Normally, I'm the review with the lower than average rating. I figure you have to rate a place against what they are trying to do and how well they achieve it. The website says "GOOD FOOD FOR VALUE-CONSCIOUS CUSTOMERS". They deliver that in spades. What other sandwich shop is doing liverwurst? They do corned beef too. That's all good. This place makes a sandwich like Mom would have made if she had all the extras around the house. The secret here is getting a perfect rendition of the plain sandwich using mega-mart lunch meat. It's cheap, tasty and there are no pretensions. They deliver everything they promise. It's locally owned and the owners are nice people. I'll take that over the corporate sandwich shop at twice the price anytime.

The portions are huge! I'm not a sandwich person but savored all of my delicious turkey avocado sandwich. The veggies are fresh and advocado is tasteful! The owner is really kind amd attentive! Definitely found a gem :)

A quirky corridor-with-a-counter-style sandwich shop. Their sandwiches are cheap (particularly their $2.75 sandwich of the day), you can get select Asian dishes (like kimchi, dumplings, and "fried rice,") and they sell very cheap tallboys of beer (not for consumption on the premises as signs all over the place remind you). Sandwiches are individually made, and delivered with a smile, with very fresh ingredients. Nothing too adventurous here, as others have noted, but still tasty. I was disappointed with my "fried rice," which was just white rice, tossed with ham and frozen veggies, and warmed on a griddle. The guy working asked if I wanted soy sauce, and when I said yes, he just put the stuff on after the white rice concoction was already cooked. Not exactly my idea of "fried rice." Still, though, I'll give them another chance, and if you're looking for an easy, value, sandwich place, perhaps you should too.

Today I decided to try lunch at Cher's Delicatessen. If your looking for a simple lunch to go, Cher's offers no frills sandwiches. No special decor and no valet parking just quickly prepared simple sandwiches. If this rating was solely based on the quality of the sandwich I would have rated 3.5 stars. I scored 4 stars since they don't make themselves appear to be a 5 star deli serving 2 star quality food. The two guys working had me and out faster than Subway.

I love a cheap quick sandwich from this little place. Since I started working downtown I love coming here. Especially when I was going through the starving student phase. They have a special on a different $2.75 sandwich everyday. Have in mind this is what a truly simply sandwich will be. But they do load it with meat and fresh veggies. And the biggest draw for me to keep coming back. Is the fried rice they have to go with the cheap sandwich. YUM fresh veggies and perfect rice. I will be back for sure.

These taste like good homemade sandwiches. Perfect for days when I "forget" my lunch from home.

Terrible tasting food. Went with the Mrs. we each took one bite, wrapped the sandwich back up in the saran wrap it came in, and place it in the trash. We went to Jimmy Johns because it is the closest sandwich place that I know of around here, and I absolutely hate Jimmy John's. Also a good sandwich is one of my favorite things to eat. I would eat one everyday given the option. I know good sandwiches and my mom would never poison me with this food. Kraft singles, HomePride bread, and Western Family preservative prepackaged meat is their secret. Save your $5.

Cher's is independent, run by a very nice family, and a meal here is filling and cheap. I love their egg salad. I'm also a big fan of liverwurst, and their version is respectable. Cher's is a really cool, hole in the wall sandwich shop. Stop in sometime. They have Cheetos.
